Exploring boat graveyards in Brittany (France) is an opportunity to visit very special landscapes but also to meet places rich in history through shipwreks, worn by nature. You can walk and go back in time to the golden age of fishing in the region from the 1940s to the 1950s. It was a tragic fish shortage caused by overfishing that brought on a sudden end of this industry. This led to the bankruptcy of many fishermen in the region. Ruined, the owners could not afford to pay for the dismantling and ended up abandoning their boats on the coast. You'll find a dozen of these places all along the coast like this one near Lorient.
